Sweet Things

Last year, our favourite dessert bakery in Bucerias was called, "Sweet Things".  So today, after our 1 and 1/2 hour walk on the beach, checking out all the sand art, we decided to visit Sweet Things and buy some ginger cookies.  Well, it was gone and so was our favourite baker in all of Mexico, Jessica.   Maybe she moved back to Saskatchewan.  Discouraged, we went searching for a sugar fix.  It didn't take long until we came across an outdoor mini St. Jacob's market in a vacant lot near the Kissing Bridge.  You will never guess who was selling dates squares and oatmeal cookies loaded with fresh ginger ... you're right!, Jessica.  We bought 4 giant date treats and 3 super giant cookies.  Our morning was complete.  We munched and licked our lips and fingers, while enjoying the provisional art on the bridge.  Only Bryan R. will know what that means.  Robert decided to pose for picture near a dead tree.  The light was perfect!

The weatherman called for rain today but it just got hotter and hotter as the afternoon progressed.  We decided to spend the time in Kathy and Bill's pool.  Bob, their 56 year old surfer friend, dropped by for a visit.  He's the guy who sold me his 12 string guitar last year.  Bob entertained us with his surfing stories and listed all the best breakers along the Nayarit Banderas Bay coast.  Bill, Kathy, Sue, and I sipped on whiskey coolers and dreamt about conquering the tubes and stairs of the high seas - if Bob could do it, so could we.

Around 4 p.m., we started to prepare a magnificent steak stir fry.  The carrots, mushrooms, garlic, peppers, and onions never tasted sooooo good! Well, everything tastes better here.  It must be the sunshine.   We finished the evening off taking pictures of the sunset on the beach.  No school for Jack tomorrow and Gracie loves the sound of other dogs barking in the neighbourhood.

Maybe we will search for fresh mahi mahi tomorrow.

Provisional!

It's all about the light!

Save the turtles!

Stairway to heaven!
